Albert
Hello, readers!
Albert’s site has now officially launched, and I am excited to share him with you!
Today, I wanted to share with you Albert’s origin story. You see, Albert was inspired by real donkey that lives on a farm off a country road not far from my home. This little donkey that I spy when I drive by has always made me smile. Sometimes I see him grazing in the fields. Sometimes I see him standing and watching the cars go by. My family started making it a point to look for this donkey–whose real name I do not know–when we’d pass by. We started calling him Albert for fun. We’d tell each other, “I saw Albert today” and laugh at the silly game we had created in looking for him. My mother, who has been the biggest supporter of my writing from an early age, has always suggested I write a story based on this real donkey. After completing my third cozy mystery novel (now in the editing phase), I decided to give bringing Albert to life a try. Using this little donkey in the field, and my own dog named Eddie for inspiration, Albert the Donkey Meets a New Friend was born.
I knew from the beginning I wanted to instill common sense life lessons through the book and spread a message of positive characteristics to children that they can learn and grow with. I wanted to create characters that were fun and interesting, that children could relate to and recognize parts of themselves in. I wanted to share stories that made children laugh and smile and happy as they explored Albert’s life on the farm and went along with him on his adventures. I hope I have done that for all my little readers.
I am pleased to announce that book two, Albert the Donkey Finds a Treasure is now available. I am also pleased to announce that I have received the first sample of Albert the Donkey. He is adorable and interest from parents who want to purchase an Albert have been very positive. My goal is to start a campaign to be able to crowdsource the funds to produce a limited bulk order. Please watch for news on social media on that campaign and the perks you can receive for donating to the campaign.
I am so blessed to have Albert in my life and to be able to share him with the world. I hope you and your littles love him as much as I do. Thank you for being with me on this journey and supporting my dream of writing.
